Elder Bednar and Praying to Act
Elder Bednar during the Sunday afternoon session of LDS General Conference invited the membership to change the way we pray. I like his point that we need to stop praying to God that the missionaries be led to the honest in heart or those searching for the gospel. That is our job. Missionaries are the teachers and we are the finders. In a way, we have been praying all this time for someone else to do our work for us. We need to start praying to God to help us find the honest in heart and those searching for the truth and help us to prepare them to listen to the missionaries. Elder Bednar gave many other examples where this principle applies to how we pray.

I tend to agree with Elder Bednar, but then what are we supposed to do with "After this manner therefore pray ye:Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."? Not much action words
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" is a request for help in acting correctly.
