Adam's Transgression
Adam and Eve's mistake was even more profound than God telling them that "Ye shall not eat it." Adam and Eve's mistake was that they partook of the fruit in following the command of Satan. And in doing so, eating of the fruit became an act of worship or Satan. Eating of the fruit wasn't their only sin. Once they began to "harken" to the devil, Satan made them ashamed or thier nakedness and commanded them to make aprons of fig leaves. So, they "harkened" unto Satan once again.
So, how do you resolve God giving Adam and Eve a command to "not partake of the fruit" and to be "fruitful and replenish the earth." Well, Adam and Eve could have simply asked for permission."Wherefore I, the Lord, command and revoke, as it seemeth me good"
