Armageddon

People always ask, is that scripture speaking in a temporal sense or in a spiritual sense. Did the Red Sea really part and the Israelites pass through on dry ground. Did Jonah really spend three days in the belly of the whale or was that just an allegory foreshadowing Christ's death and resurrection on the 3rd day. The answer is YES to both. The things in the scriptures all really did happen. And they also represent spiritual truths which can be applied or likened in your own walk with Christ.

Armageddon has deep significance to our spiritual lives. But the armies of the Earth at some future date will gather together against the city of Jerusalem. The 2 witnesses will walk the streets of Jerusalem and hold the armies off with the power of God until they are finally killed and their bodies will be paraded throughout the streets. Then when the city is about to fall, Jesus Christ will appear on top of the Mount of Olives. There will be a great earthquake. The mountain will split in half, while the opposing armies are decimated like Isaiah and the Assyrian armies, and the survivors will rush thru to meet their Messiah. After which they will ask "What are these marks in your hands and in your feet" Christ will then answer "They are the marks I received in the house of my friends" And then the people's eyes will be open and they will know that they crucified their God, and fall down and worship Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the Savior of the World, the Son of God.

The concept of armies of the Earth gathering together to fight a country was unheard of until World War One and the creation of the United Nations.
